Kinship, Bereavement & Family Support

FASS offers a free confidential Kinship & Family Support Service to any adult family member who has been affected by a loved one's drug or alcohol problems.

Our Kinship & Family Support Workers can offer a variety of supports to help you with issues that may be affecting you and they are able to provide access to Geeza Break respite services.


This service is strictly confidential, non-judgemental and an opportunity to speak to someone in an informal, friendly environment to discuss any issues that may have arisen from being a Kinship Carer or due to your loved one's drug or alcohol problems.

Our Kinship & Family Support Workers can offer:

  • Someone to speak with in a confidential manner about any issues that may be affecting you.

  • One to one Kinship Support, one areas such as Kinship Care Orders, Residency Orders etc

  • Access to respite services through Geeza Break.

  • Help Me Grow - Child Development Programme.

  • Advice on supports available from FASS.

  • Information on Kinship, Family & Bereavement Support Groups.

  • Sign Posting to other organisations.

  • Referrals to respite breaks.

  • Referrals to FASS Family Support Workers.

  • Referrals to Hypnotherapist.

  • Referrals to Holistic Therapist.

  • Outreach Support in various locations throughout Glasgow.

  • Bereavement support

  • Telephone support is available to those unable to attend in person.

Kinship & Family Support appointments can be made by self referral or via a relevant agency.
